Good guess, but not quite right. "Bluehairs" came about due to the once common use of rinse products containing Bluing to reduce the yellow tinge of white hair. Elderly ladies would have lovely pale blue/lavender hair if too much was applied. No one mentioned it in polite company. Now it's just fat losers showing their mass marketed "individuality". No one having blue hair today would be polite company.
