Yes. You're not allowed to dye organic fruit so it doesn't look as uniform. You can go to the store and look yourself. Regular apples have food coloring and wax so they look shiny and uniform.

Oranges are picked mostly green then dyed and waxed. Tree ripened have lots of sugar and taste. Commercial is as tasteless as colored cardboard.

It’s amazing when you eat home grown food. Luckily I live where I can also buy fresh ripe natural fruits and veggies if there’s something I want that I didn’t grow.

No not from looks.

ORGANIC only limits the TYPE of herbicides and TYPES of pesticides.

Nothing else.

Organic farming ruins the soil with salts, but preserves waterways from runoffs.

In arid areas, like california, organic is RETARDED and devastating to soil.

In wet areas, organic saves streams and rivers.

All organic crops use pesticide. Even organic sugar cane, which uses ARSENIC (to limit rats).

ARSENIC!!!!

My garden grew, i finally have a green thumb. I never realized how much better fruit and veg could taste. The supermarket stuff tastes is tasteless by comparison. Plus non gmo in the grocery is a scam. Its all regular apples, the smaller ones get the organic stickers.

I agree and disagree.. I can't tell a difference between the small tomatoes I have grown and store tomatoes...

But I had a 100% home grown meal from a friend's old German grandma living on her own land she killed a chicken cooked it right then and all the veggies and sides came strait from her garden. Hand down the best meal I've ever had it was truly amazing.

So I get it but I'm not a fanatic about it<<< shit yes I am I have an offer on 5.1 acres and am going to homestead so ya. I'm crazy

I don' t blame you. I can't wait to get some land to homestead. My family thinks I'm nuts but I prefer being safe rather than being in the shithole city I'm currently stuck in.

Organic is overrated, but I can attest that you can't eat government mass market food and maintain fitness. I have tried eating as much crap as I want and exercising as hard as I can manage, and it doesn't work. It makes you weak, and you can't work out as hard, which is like a cycle of soy (as a metaphor -- I don't eat extra soy on purpose, though it's in stuff).

That isn't to say you have to eat purely protein shakes. A balanced diet will do it; it's just that eating 2000 calories of crap food a day isn't.

In college I ate fast food and tons of crap while playk.g college basketball and I was fine it didn't matter really what I put in my body at that point I was going 5o burn it out and or build it into muscle.. now looking back I am 99% sure it would have helped to have had a better diet but I was still dunking a foot inside the free throw line.. as a 6 2 white guy not sure how much more I could have done.

All other things being equal, meaning same soil consistency and quality, water levels, light levels, etc., without chemical analysis they wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Chemical analysis could reveal what herbicides and pesticides were used. Beyond that, they'd be identical.

People think natural means better and safer. With a lot of things that's true, but it's not a rule. Nature creates more diabolical toxins than any chemist could ever dream up, and humans can create pesticides that are better and safer than the organic ones.

Non organic fruits are dyed and waxed. The dye they use to color oranges is suspected to cause cancer and is banned in two states. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citrus_Red_2

They do not dye apples red, and people have been waxing fruit for centuries.

Your article mentions that they can apply fake red to orange peels. Nothing else.

After 10 minutes of searching I couldn't find any non-blog sources so maybe it's just oranges. I'll go to a store and look sometime and see if they look different.
