It's about the attitude, that's how I roll.
A 9mm and a jar of ether
foreign concept to me.
I keep a bug out bag. to get the fuck out of dodge. but nothing specific to get home with
Yeah, I live in a rural area. I'm most concerned about shit going down when I'm away from home. An EMP (or something) could disable my vehicle and I would have to hike home. Sometimes I have to go to the VA (in the city) or something like that. There are times that I go to events that are out of my area. I like to keep a pack with supplies in my truck, just in case. It could serve as a BIB or a BOB, depending on the circumstances. I'm just fishing for ideas here. I learned about things like that in the Marines, but that was a long time ago, things have changed, and I can't carry as much as I could back then. I'm interested in light weight durable stuff.
Semper FI brother.
It largely depends on location and intended time of need. If you are planning a it could take me 2 days to get home bag, versus an I've got to GTFO bag. I have no idea where i came across the alice pack i use for all this :D
My get to the north property bag has
4 x MRE (broken down so they fit in small spaces easily) that can stretch to 4 days of food if need be.
2 x lifestraw - never be without drinking water, you die in days
10w solar panel charger - takes forever to charge anything, but its small and lightweight. (there are 30w ones available these days)
knife - pick your choice - ive got an old case folder there, it handles most things i need small hatchet
some ammo for your likely to be carried - you arent trying to resupply all your gins here, just a bit of extra over what you normally carry.
one of those silver blanket things
Tarp - I keep a small one in there. its amazing to not have to sleep on wet ground
Basic first aid kit with mil sytle addons, like compression bandages
Small LED light
Change of clothes (warmer i often am wearing light clothing at home)
A warm jacket - i have to disassemble the pack to get to this, its straps run through the arms and it sits between the frame and pack to save space as it doesnt fit in my bag well, but the north property is cold about half the year.
fire starting essentials - pick a couple, dont rely on 1, make sure 1 does not need gas or batteries.
I am sure there is more. THis was just the stuff i could think off off the top of my head thats in it.
Extra mags. The will to use them.
I keep a tree in mine. A salad tree nor specifically so I will always have fresh salads
Yes, so true in a SHTF situation, unfortunately.
adding paper plates to my prepper supplies
I live in the country where I have what I need. If I am out and about and things go bad really fast I am armed with a really fucking bad attitude that will get me home.
Yeah, I'm with you. I don't think these city boys understand the concept!

They really don't and suffer from a lot of serious cognitive dissonance.
Whoa.... you've frightened me through your keyboard. I can only imagine you in person, with your intimidating fedora......
