Seriously, i just talked to my one friend who'se paying 30,000 for the venue alone. When i got married, the most expensive part was the wedding cake, and even then, my wife and i felt guilty that my mom paid so much for it. I think the total wedding cost for our home wedding was a whomping 800 bucks. It just blows my mind people spend so much for formalizing what is a piece of paper

She and my BiL are practical cheapskates. They make stupid amounts of money, yet live as hyper-minamalists. Small house, two Hyundaes, virtually no personal belongs aside from clothes.

That wedding was the only thing those two serious dorks have ever splurged on in their entire lives. I'd say they earned it.

To each his own, I suppose. I guess if I had unlimited money I'd do that. Otherwise I can't imagine not finding something better to spend it on.
