I dont have my own garden because i dont spend enough time at hone, and i hate having fences all over my property anyway. Already have a bunch of ugly ass fences up all over around my chestnut trees and plum trees and aspen trees that i planted to keep the deer from destroying them. My neighbor and my parents have big gardens that i raid regularly. And lots of people around me grow food. In a real fucked up scenario, i could always trade wild game for produce or eggs or whatever. Berries, fruit trees, and mushrooms are abundant seasonally. I have a book on local edible wild plants but havent really gotten into that yet, though i know i need to. Dandelions are everywhere if you really want some leafy greens.
What about a growing fence that only becomes stronger with age?
What, like a hedge around a vegetable garden? Strange concept. And it would take time to grow tall enough to keep deer out, and wouldnt keep rabbits out at all. Probably wouldnt keep turkeys out either. And would block sunlight a bit. And suck up water.
You list many problems. I wonder, are you a woman? Women are very good at seeing problems. Men however have solutions, it is a nice dance.
Yes, nature takes time to grow. And nature also has all the answers. A trained dog, would keep rabbits deer and turkeys away.
And if you make the fence with trees about a meter and a half apart or, 3 feet 3⅞ inches for you suffering from retardation in your education system :).
You can suplimemt with fruit trees and berry bushes etc, and think, it does not have to be a line. You can zig zag the pattern. So many solutions!
Your grandchildren's domain would be protected by a magnificent fence truly beautiful, and they would not starve.
And imagine NO UPKEEP WORK NEEDED.
