I am listening to one of his talks on the nature of temporal existence. I have no background in physics or philosophy--does this have any merit? It seems to make sense and I have heard others touch on these kinds of concepts.

I have all of his audiobooks and live recordings on audible, and I’ve listened to each of them several times in recent years. They never fail to help me slow down, take a deep breath, and smile. Sort of like sharpening the saw. Listen to it every day for too long and you might start feeling zoned out and even a bit estranged from people, time, and life. But balance is key, as with meditation. Too much of any remedy is unhealthy. I see these ideas as tools, not to be held too firmly or for too long at a time. You risk looking at life, and yourself, as though they are parodies of real things. Along the same line of discussion, even though most people think Osho was insane and/or malicious, I‘ve found hundreds of hours of peace, lightheartedness, and fascinating insights while listening to his audio. Usually while out on walks, or commuting, cooking, or cleaning. I found him and Alan Watts while searching for more information on Taoism, because I’d enjoyed the Tao te ching (read by jacob needleman) so much. All of these books, live recordings, and ideas have helped me relax into life whenever I’ve been pushing things too hard and need to chill.

Someone gives you an actual response to your question and this is how you respond? Glad to see you took nothing away form listening to Watts.
