I am listening to one of his talks on the nature of temporal existence. I have no background in physics or philosophy--does this have any merit? It seems to make sense and I have heard others touch on these kinds of concepts.

Who gives a fuck what other people think? Do you find it helpful or enlightening? Does it make sense to you? One should be just as wary of people who state everything is a Jew psyop, just as everyone who says it isn't. If personal positivity comes from his words and you think you've become a better person by listening to it, then continue on. This goes with anything. Don't rely on what some bots and naysaying contrarians say here; think for yourself.

Relax, man. I do think for myself, but I wanted some outside feedback to sort through.

By taking the time to make a post, you show that you don't trust yourself, that you require the herd's confirmation. Men who know themselves don't seek confirmation from others, they trust their intuition, their own reasoning based on the personal results they see happening via action. You don't think for yourself.

You have no idea who you’re talking to and what my mindset is. I have done nothing but thinking for myself. I’m not even going to entertain you further.

I have all of his audiobooks and live recordings on audible, and I’ve listened to each of them several times in recent years. They never fail to help me slow down, take a deep breath, and smile. Sort of like sharpening the saw. Listen to it every day for too long and you might start feeling zoned out and even a bit estranged from people, time, and life. But balance is key, as with meditation. Too much of any remedy is unhealthy. I see these ideas as tools, not to be held too firmly or for too long at a time. You risk looking at life, and yourself, as though they are parodies of real things. Along the same line of discussion, even though most people think Osho was insane and/or malicious, I‘ve found hundreds of hours of peace, lightheartedness, and fascinating insights while listening to his audio. Usually while out on walks, or commuting, cooking, or cleaning. I found him and Alan Watts while searching for more information on Taoism, because I’d enjoyed the Tao te ching (read by jacob needleman) so much. All of these books, live recordings, and ideas have helped me relax into life whenever I’ve been pushing things too hard and need to chill.

Someone gives you an actual response to your question and this is how you respond? Glad to see you took nothing away form listening to Watts.

He seemed to be a pretty harsh critic of modern ‘Judeo-Christian’ philosophy, while placing Hindu and Buddhist teachings in a better light. I also recall him saying something about how it was more noble to wage war for women and riches than in the name of god.

No. He was a wordy man who spun word salad in a way that sounded intelligent and insightful. He talked big game about zen, yet more or less drank himself to death.

IT all comes back around again and gets clean in the wash. :)

If you listen to what he says it does sound enticing, but overall I feel its a trap to get you to do nothing.

I was feeling that same way. The Communists purposefully helped introduce yoga and other Eastern philosophies to spoiled middle-class kids in America to undermine the values of the country and make them chase after rainbows and shit.

Charlatain. Pseudo-mystic.

Read Seraphim Rose if you want to follow someone who came out of that same group, but was a legitimate spiritual giant.

His talk on self improvement is amusing.

How so?

Still waiting on a good, reddit-tier self-righteous response from you. Tell us all how much better you are.

Go listen to it for yourself.

Total faggot non-answer. You have no answer because you're a douchebag that acts like he has original thoughts but has nothing.

His insight is profound. I love khrisna murti more tho.

"How do WE feel" is term ripe for reflection.

"How do WE feel" represents inability to adhere to private communion.

I.e.; Look in a fucking mirror.

Or if could just be me being cheeky. Anyway, I got the information that I was seeking. Toodles.

Talking isn't doing, unless talking leads to doing. Take your inspiration where you find it.

My daughter thinks he's amazing. I find him boring. Different strokes.

Maybe you would like my philosophy. I call it Gerbilism and the main tenet is: “We are all but fecally encrusted gerbils inside the asshole that is life.”

That’s some deep shit right there. How’s that for a cave allegory?

<reaches for paper towel tube> You've given me something to think about.

Also LOL, good one.
