Testing as an opt out for the vaccine will be interesting; I am not certain how much freedom businesses have to manage it. I have a lot of questions about it myself (out of curiosity, but lucky for me I work for a very small company in which this will not apply).
So, who will pay for the tests, where will the tests need to be taken (will it be monitored like a urine screen) ? What if there is a shortage of tests, and as a result you can't get your weekly test? False positives are also a definite concern as others pointed out.
Obviously, this new requirement is going to be a lot of extra paperwork, and reporting to the government for whomever a business puts in charge of it, which will also increase cost (more time spent on this bs than on lets say payroll or tax). I wonder if businesses can refuse testing as an option in place of the vax due to time and cost, and just choose not hire those who are not vaccinated so they do not have to bother with the weekly employee testing. Either way, it is going to be both disastrous and interesting to see unfold.
With that being said, sure the new testing rule could demonstrate that the unvaccinated aren't brining in COVID like they damn well already know, but it is just too lucrative for the certain government affiliates and officials to let that info become clear to those who don't believe it yet, so I bet that they are going to manipulate businesses into hiring only the vaccinated by making the test harder to get or flat out unattainable just so it will be almost impossible for people to opt for the weekly test alternative.
As for Biden, I do not believe Trump paid him off to secure a re-election. They may very well work for the same people, but I get the impression that Trump wouldn't piss on Biden to put him out if he were on fire, but it could all be theatrics I suppose.
Great point! I wonder if the employer can administer its own test, probably not. It might have to be an outside source for medical/accounting purposes.
There is no doubt in my mind that they're prodding employers to hire VAX employees only.
The issue is practicality. There are currently more job openings than unemployed, they're going to have to accept the unvaxxed or experience serious labor shortages.
