Just my take on it: In documentation one can notate "r/o" meaning rule out, then one notes the possible dx to determine if ya got it or not. i.e., r/o: R ankle fx Then examine by way of x-ray, other, to determine if an actual fx or not. Your document says COVID ruled out. which appears to me to say they did the tests, whatever, and determined that such was not the case. That you did not have COVID. The only way you will really know, is you gotta point blank ask them. Systems and people document things in different ways. Ask in plain speak exactly what they meant. Get a plain answer. I advise people that it is your right to get questions answered, and in a way that you would understand. Next time you go have what questions you want answered listed. Prepare for your appointment. An emergency is another story, but otherwise you need to have a CONVERSATION with the health care provider. Do not let them rush you. You are receiving medical care, not getting run through some mill. You also have the right to say yea or nay to anything. I advise people that you are the boss. not the doctor. You need to inform yourself and make your own decisions. Most folks will do whatever they are told and fill that scrip or whatever. I have observed that doctors (good ones) are more then happy to have an intelligent conversation with their pt. Good bedside manner, an' all that. If not, find another one. I give due respect for all the hoops to jump through and training they have had to earn that title. It is to work WITH them in maintaining, regaining health. TBH, i actually turn down prescription meds, i will find a natural approach as well as make lifestyle adjustments. I will not take NONE of that stuff. So far so good for umpteen decades. Blessed with pretty good health, tho' the "virus" has changed some things. Bonus information: Here is a list of "rights" to consider when giving/taking medication: right person, right medicine, right dosage, right route (means of administration), right time, and the one no one ever says: right to refuse. Yes, there are exceptions to all of the above. Just my two cents, to happily give folks some insight. Hope these tidbits help somebody. You gotta make your own decisions. This is just information.
