North east Alabama is rural with a lot of construction jobs and low property prices. check out Sand Mountain or the Fort Payne area.

Thanks. This is the kind of info I need. I hate urbanites so we were looking about an hour away from any city.

we are about an hour outside of Chattanooga TN. in Georgia would be happy to call you neighbor.

You can look at Tennessee too. Marion County and Grundy County. No state income tax in Tennessee.

Try Wisconsin... It's right between Mississippi & Alabama.
