Look, I can lead you to water but I can't make you drink, if you're not willing to look at what the successors of the apostles taught unanimously then there isn't much more to say.
The pinnacle of understanding Christianity and the truth of the Christian faith is understanding what teachings have never changed and were handed down to the apostles from Christ. The teaching of the faith doesn't change because Almighty God doesn't change. If you want to know the truth, you need to look at what the Church has always taught. Scripture wasn't even fully codified until the Council of Nicaea 397AD, so it might behoove you to read what the early Church fathers taught before that.
