Outside of the SBC, Baptist churches are independently run. They are ALL over the place theologically. Some are borderline liberal like Lutheran, and others are right wing nut jobs like Westboro or the snake handler churches. As a result, they tend to get a lot of hate because there's no homogeneous platform for the church to follow or be held to. It also doesn't help that many are hyper literal in scripture reading, leading to young earth views, or crazy views on speaking in tounges, handling snakes, the role of a pastor, etc.

The one I went to as a kid was simply a money pit. They had like a gym, a basketball court, an ampitheatre (sanctuary), many acres in town, and they were supported several very wealthy people.

Every Baptist I've ever known (and there have been hundreds over the years) are the biggest, most self-righteous, hypocritical, judgmental people I've ever met.

It's like they can't help themselves pretending to be better than everyone else.

And they will literally die if they actually did any form of charity where they didn't get recognition for it. It would make them have a massive heart attack if they had to do charity and no one ever knew about it.

Baptists, in all their iterations, share quite a bit with the "woke" crowd who pretend to be righteous and amazing. All about their self-righteousness.

And when you think you finally found one who is sincere, genuinely good, they slip. They show their real face and then they start their judging and self-righteousness.

It's highly likely I've run across some good Baptists and I just didn't know it (because they didn't reveal it). I reserve the right to change my mind.

One of my ancestors was Gayen Miller, who came to America as a Quaker, yet had several descendants who established Southern Baptist churches. I was baptized as a baby, and raised Southern Baptist. Never met any guff for it; but it is a subject of much interest to me. Gotta get to the bottom of this mystery.

They're shitty tippers from what I've heard. Leaving a bible tract that looks like a $20 as a tip is bound to stir up some negative feelings.

No central money collectIng authority like the Vatican or he World Jewish Congress.

With 220 different baptist denomination they are ALL hated.

[–] 1 pt

So what you are saying is there are 220 denominations that do not have a single point to corrupt like the pope.

Because they hold the word of God supreme over the traditions of men.

That's it.

We do not give lip service to an organization or church but instead view the world in comparison to the word God.

The ones who do not meet that muster are the ones who hate us.

Before the reader gets their panties in a wad, understand this, we look at ourselves in that lense too. Otherwise we would have no appreciation for our salvation.

The Catholic Church put the canon of scripture together. This isn't debateable.

2 Thess 2:14 destroys your interpretation of what tradition is.

I think you mean 2 Thessalonians 2:15.

13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: 14 whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. 16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, 17 comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

The context is clear that Paul is telling the church at Thessolinica to keepnthe traditions the apostles have taught them and not some other traditions of men. Since you appear to want to argue for Catholic traditions, you have to remember that many of those were established after the death of the apostles and thus, cannot be considered true traditions of the apostles but rather teachings of third parties, and thus, outside of the teachings of Christ, the apostles, or the gospels.

Matthew 15:1-6

15 Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying, 2 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. 3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? 4 For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death. 5 But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; 6 and honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.

Your interpretation is wrong. The Church never interpreted it that way. Read the early church fathers. Stop making yourself head of the Church. Protestants have no authority to interpret scripture. The Church never believed what Protestants believe. It's amazing to me how Protestants conveniently ignore 1500 years of Christendom and somehow magically come to the conclusion everyone was wrong for the first 1500 years of Christian history, the hubris is amazing.

Catholics will burn you alive for this heresy.

Its bible. Not the word of God. Even Satan has a bible....

Who do you think "our" is in that verse? It's Paul's ministry that Thessalonica can attribute their salvation to.

The Catholic Church began well after this.

Because niggers took it up in great amounts and turned mass into a shouting match.

because they don't allow their preachers to fuck kids or for faggots to get married in their church.

So, they get it from all of the people who will be burning in hell.

I don't know why Baptists would be hated. Most Baptist churches are just as wishy-washy and corrupted as the Roman Catholic Church or the Anglican Church. It is only a very small minority of Baptist Churches that actually follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. Those churches are hated by liberals and homos and freaks and those who want to murder babies, no doubt about that.

Is there a church good for our people? Out of curiosity whats up with scientology? The media wants us to hate them... So what's up with that?

The temple is within you, and you create the relationship with God through the spirit.

God finally graced me last year with his presence. I've since tested many different churches. Almost all of them are corrupt because they are all led by someone who went to a school to learn to be a preacher. It's the same corruption in any other school or organization. They may have been initially led by the spirit, but they let it become watered down by following the traditions of men. Almost all Christian people celebrate Easter and Christmas, when both are insanely pagan and have zero to do with the faith. Someone a long time ago decided to pretend it did and twisted ideas to make it fit. I can give you more info on that if you're interested, but know that at the beginning of our country, both of those holidays were not allowed to be celebrated.

Communion with God is so peaceful, unless he's reprimanding you, then you feel sorrowful and then grateful for the forgiveness. I was never told that the relationship with God was an actual, true, two way communication on a regular basis. I would suppose the reason most don't have it is because they didn't know either, and also, it just sounds plain crazy when most people don't think the devil exists and God is a thing that most also do not think exist. They say that you have faith without proof, but that is a lie. Maybe some are saying they believe without proof, but I think they lie to themselves. God speaks to you, guides you, helps you, protects you, and you can feel his presence (unless you water down the spirit with things that push him away).

You can try a church but it will only be for community, and most of them aren't real believers. They're once a week, sometimes three times a week plus special occasion attendees.

Watchman Nee is an excellent source of true spiritual food if you're interested. Almost all of his writing is on line for free as he has passed away quite some time ago.

Wish you well on a sincere journey of faith. It's the greatest gift you'll ever receive, and I'm not talking about the after life. It's the only true peace in this life.

you create the relationship with God through the spirit.

Uh, hell no. I was - and you appear to still be - dead in sin(s). God made US alive with him. We love because he first loved us.

He did everything by dying on the cross. You did jack shit.
