I've been out of the dating game for around a decade. I was married but she passed away and I've bene emotionally stunted since then. I saw this cute girl at church but i have absolutely no clue what to do next? And the news cycle (Poal isnt helping here, taking in so much negative news is very bad for the psyche) gives me this negative reinforcement that asking her out would end in a disaster

Let her talk about herself, a woman's favorite subject is herself. Listen and don't interrupt and don't try and solve anything, just act appropriate emmotionally to what she's saying. You'll be in like Flynn.
