You’re not wrong, what you’re observing is what scripture calls “the flesh”. The only escape is to be born again into the lineage of Christ, meaning to first “die to self” and be reborn to take on an entirely new nature (that of Christ instead of Adam). Until we do that it’s 100% exactly what you say, many different kinds of flesh at war with each other. But while those who are born again still maintain their bodies, their flesh no longer defines them.
It’s almost like the flesh is a fruit tree and the type of fruit it produces varies by species, the only way to no longer produce that fruit is to become a new species, in this case a spiritual one. That’s why Christ said you had to be both born of water (birthed from the womb) and born of the spirit to have freedom and eternal life, the flesh cannot inherit the spiritual, it’s physically impossible.
