Don't listen to all the outrageous faggots in here. I have actually worked for a federal judge, they just care about getting the right answer. All of the ones I have met were great people. Political bias doesn't have the potential to play a role in the vast majority of cases. There is also appellate review and they'll get reversed if they do something wrong. You would be surprised at some of the minute, seemingly insignificant details that some cases get reversed on. Some state court judges are crazy but state court is generally a shit show because they are so overloaded its not even funny. It's easy to cherry pick a few cases and act like that represents all judges but there are literally tens of thousands of cases handled every day, even more if you include the article 1 judges.

To your specific concern, the bias I think you mean here is extremely easy to detect on appeal. Legal standards get refined by caselaw over time, so unwarranted deviations will be obvious and will get reversed. Sure, there may be some suspicious rulings on discretionary matters, but they will always have a basis for everything else because if they make a legally incorrect ruling they will get reversed on appeal. Judges hate getting reversed. Shitty lawyers generally aren't going to win their cases even if the judge is doing everything they can to help them. Judges can't go outside of the parties' arguments, unless it's a constitutional question, so if the shit lawyer does not make the winning argument for his case, they cannot win. Their case has to fit within the established legal framework, they have to make the proper arguments, and they have to meet their burden of proof for whatever evidentiary standard is required for the matter at hand.

Even if I were, it would still be better than being a liberal who can only make ad hominem arguments.
