Although since we only have Jews as arbiters of Hebraic translation accuracy, I wouldn't put my money on it. I did change God's name into YHWH rather than the modern Hebrew letters. The original Israelites were milk-drinking colonisers who developed the alphabet which was then used by Greeks and Romans, from Egyptian Hieroglyphics. The modern Jews are a nomadic merchant people who are from generic mixed-multitude MENA populations, they are mostly Lactose Intolerant. If you interpret "curse" as the pagan conception of "curse," then it's like a magical, negative aura of bad luck or... something like that. I do not interpret it this way, I think "curse" was used to mean a negative consequence of a choice/ action. It's just like Canaan was cursed for being the product of severe incest, just like many who are the product of such a union are physically & 'spiritually' cursed. I interpret the passage to mean that if you don't follow the Laws of God there will be inevitable consequences, one of the consequences listed is "sojourners" or foreigners becoming elevated over you, in your own lands. If the Israelites were living according to God's will, the foreigners would not be able to elevate themselves above God's people and practice usury against them, but because they don't live by God's laws, they suffer the consequences. Hope that makes sense. It just so happens that Jews fit into the 'Sojourner' and 'Usurer' categories very well.
