It isn’t a scientific coup. The “science” these people follow is not expansion of knowledge through the application of inductive reasoning, testing and retesting. This is a religion not unlike Greek mythology. They find stories that fit what they want to do, then force it on you. This is just another coup by a cult religion. They are trying to edge out competing religions as they go, and installing their priests wherever they can.
