Climate change is supposed to be based on science.

The elite moving from "democratically elected" lawmakers to "selected intellectual elite" with a dictate, might seem like a pleonasm to most on here, but if it was insignificant, they wouldn't bother doing it.

It's tightening their power and finding ways of getting the population to willingly give away control, or semblance of control. For all the flaws of the current system, we were not under perfect elite control like the ussr was, but this step is a big one in that direction.

"Neighbour" meant countryman, which for Ancient Israelites (who had a confederacy of tribes or "nation-states" stemming from the same genetic stock, with a single monarchy ruling them) meant kinsmen.

You left out the most important context for those passages. If they do not keep Gods/Hashem Law those are the punishments/curses God/Hashem will cast upon them. What bible version are you using?

It isn’t a scientific coup. The “science” these people follow is not expansion of knowledge through the application of inductive reasoning, testing and retesting.

This is a religion not unlike Greek mythology. They find stories that fit what they want to do, then force it on you. This is just another coup by a cult religion. They are trying to edge out competing religions as they go, and installing their priests wherever they can.
