Yes they have walked the moon.. Anyone can figure that out. It's not that difficult feat it's more of a budget issue. Since governments want to spend money on weapons not space, but the space race happened because they wanted to perfect ICBM technology so therefore enough money was allocated.
If we didnt have to fight pointless wars and if we allocated much more money and scientists to space we would probably have a running mars colony decades ago.
