I wish more people realized this. 99.99% of americans do not know what its like to watch the sweet little old lady who baked you cakes as a kid explode in front of them and see her spine fling toward you because there was a ied in the ground. Or watch the neighbors you had a barbecue with try to rape your sister and elderly mother while stealing your food for the local warlord.
Real violence is not valiant. Its quick and merciless. You will most likely not see it coming and it will not be fair. All of the war bullshit you saw from hollywood is fake. Real war is fucking horrible.
