I'm having nightmares about how eliminating the middle part of the bell curve will turn out.

A huge number of them will simply be dependent on various medical interventions that will be consolidated with the elite, to treat their terminal illnesses. This medical calamity will usher in nationalization of all medical services. In exchange for access to medical services you will be expected to give up everything and be a slave. "You will own nothing and love it." And also be expected to support a system where in nobody, including those that didn't fuck their bodies, may own anything. After all, it's only fair that those who did what was expected of them not be in a worse situation than those who resisted. So we all must alike, owning nothing.
In your slavery they will inoculate you like the cattle that you are, and this will include dependence vaccines like the one that went out and a few real ones too.
Now these are mathusians that are doing this and they do want most people dead. But the depop is something they will achieve in their own time after subduing everyone.
