Seems odd to me that two sites whom promote freedom of speech have such animosity towards one another.

regardless of which site i check it seems there is always a hate on the other guy post and i just don't get that.

we are all in a war around the globe at this moment watching our very rights be stripped away, second by second, minute by minute.

it just seems logical that the few places where speech (seems) to be free that they should band together as it gives everyone a better chance to weather this storm we are all in

It isn't everyone. I am originally from Voat and came here after it's fall. I like both sites; they just differ a little as far as management and user base.

I miss old Voat. Poal is pretty good though.

I look at 3 main platforms (at least at the time when Voat went down last Christmas) as Voat, Poal, and Ruqqus. When old Voat sunk, I came to Poal and Ruqqus to see what's up. Here's what I found:

Ruqqus is a super feminized, gay version of Voat. It seems like it's... a mongrel. Like if Voat fucked Reddit, the daughter born from this union will be Ruqqus. And as more time passes, Ruqqus looks more and more like Reddit.

Poal is the middle ground between Voat and Ruqqus. Ruqqus has overactive moderators, Voat had basically none (except for the Qtard subs), and Poal has a reasonable amount of administrative activity- although sometimes it seems to border on a little too much.

Of course, Poal has changed over the last year as all of the goat refugees made this their new home for shitposting and news and such. The thing I miss the most about Voat: The level of discourse on Voat was miles ahead of what we see on Poal. Most comments are just one sentences. People don't really converse here. Maybe I'm the weirdo for writing up big comments like this with my 100 words-per-minute typing, but I miss the longer discussions on Voat.

>100 words-per-minute typing

You type like a fag and your shit's all retarded.

The firmer the thought, the harder it is to argue with that person. The example is 4chan, the slightest disagreement and everything will end in insults. There is no deep reflection, because no one wants to give in. There is no real unity either, because of distrust and fear of the fedarals.

A judge takes away the custody of a mother because of the vaccine!. Let's make protests all over the country? nah, let's make memes!
