I am implying nothing. Its what it states right on the can: in a fictional universe, the ideal world, if you could wish bad luck, the plague the left is screaming about, if you could wish it would descend upon various groups of people, which would you be most satisfied to see, and what order?
and your fear is foolish. They are arresting 70 year old grandmothers for walking in the capitol on invitation of police. And they have made clear they intend to come after anyone who ever spoke against the junta.
Theres 500+ of them rotting in prison now. Almost a year later. Denied lawyers, some of them. Or given lawyers who clearly wanted them convicted. Beaten by union thugs in political gulags. Denied food sometimes, water, and even their cancer meds. And the state has clearly indicated it wants to arrest as many more possible. It will not stop at the capitol but extend to anyone who ever voted rightwing in just a year, or two at the very latest.
In two years time, there will be ten thousand or more political prisoners in the u.s for the crime of saying "hate speech" or believing political idealogies the junta in DC desires to vanish or suppress.
Your fear is foolish because you think you still have something to lose by speaking freely.
You don't.
That knock at your door isnt a possibility.
It's actually going to happen.
Because free speech is a crime now.
And the state and its supporters are rapidly demonizing and criminalizing all exercise of rights, and all beliefs they dont agree with.
Might as well commit the crime of free speech while the blackbag isnt yet over your head.
Fear is stupidity under dictatorship. And obedience is foolishness and cowardice when none of us, not you, I, nor anyone here have anything left to lose.
Are we obligated to answer the door?
You are not obligated to do anything. Our rulers broke any contractual obligations when they were compromised. We are on our own now. We have no government. What passes for this is tyranny and a band of compromised criminals.
Are we obligated to answer the door?
I can't give legal advice, because I'm not a lawyer.
What I would say though is: you are obligated to follow your conscience first and foremost, without which the law means nothing anyway.
The Fourth Amendment of the United States Constitution states: “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause.”ii In general, police must obtain a search warrant before conducting a search of a home or residence. However, federal law does not require police to obtain a search warrant to conduct a knock and talk.
To conduct a knock and talk, police arrive at a home, knock on the door, and ask questions in an effort to gain consent to search the premises. Federal courts have upheld the knock and talk technique as a constitutional method of investigation. One of the most frequently cited excerpts on the constitutionality of the police approaching your front door comes from the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals: https://www.primermagazine.com/2013/learn/legally-speaking-police-are-at-the-door
