Well now you're talking about fighter bloodlines, from which only very few pitbulls actually descend; mainly the blues. And for the most part, they're bred to be more aggressive toward other dogs, not humans. Human aggression isn't an innate trait ANYONE wants in a dog, because that puts the owner at risk, and decreases the ability to train the dog. Dogfighting is illegal, and breeding dogs requires a license, so there are already laws in place to prevent that kind of inbreeding. The laws just aren't well enforced, especially now when police are too afraid to go after the offenders who are usually black.

And sure I can make that comparison. I was a pitbull owner. I had two. Both were well trained, and never bit a person, or attacked another dog. I was a responsible owner, and I claim all responsibility for my dogs behavior. I'm also a gun owner. My guns are not accessible to my kids. If they were, the guns would be just as dangerous to them as an untrained pitbull.

In fact, I hear far more stories about kids accidentally shooting themselves than getting mauled and/or killed by pitbulls.
