well, its a novel way to consoom alcohol without carbs and sugar
By women. That's who is driving this fad for hard seltzers. They got bored with their vodka and (club) soda.
well, i guess good for them for maintaining some carb discipline.
Straight whiskey has 0 carbs.
The majority of advertisement is geared towards females. It's also the reason for the latest "virtue signal" surge and every other bullshit fad. Men don't consume advertised products the way women do and companies that are selling bullshit products have to sell to women to stay alive.
Booze contains a lot of calories. It is a weak attempt to reduce the caloric consumption while still drinking.
But at the end of the day, alcohol still contains calories. In fact the best way to reduce the caloric intake of your alcohal is to just select a lower alcohol by volume beverage.
Budweiser Select. 55 calories. 2.4% ABV.

Another good choice is to choose a beverage that you will tend to sip instead of down like water. Something bitter.
Fuck that, slam that shit!
Yeah, just keto going mainstream.
Yeah more broadly it is probably that. The craze kind of started with La Croix I think. I also don't think the sugar and soda industry is a fan. There was this fucking delicious Dr Pepper seltzer water. It was a rarity when it wasn't sold out, but for the last year I cannot find it anymore. I have to imagine seltzer waters are cutting in to corn syrup water profits. Big Soda destroyed my glorious Dr. Pepper water.
Cocksuckers.
