Biggest reason is they (a) have a good quality product, and (b) don't DRM their products to cripple the printer if you use generic toner
Also - only laser / LED or similar tech. Never inkjet - that tech should have died years ago.
Finally - worth a read on the tracking "DOTS". If possible, try to find a printer that doesn't have this tracking tech. . This is getting harder to find...
