Please recommend me both a black/white laser printer and a color laser printer. Quality of print and reliability of the machine are the key factors.

Go simple and basic. Don't do the whole multifunction bullshit. Just get a basic Brother laser. Seriously. Cheap carts, wifi or lan, no BS, simple driver:

Brother HL-L2300DW

Brother HL-L2340DW

This is the answer. I have had two KM printers that are still running strong after 10 years. My KM MagiColor 2400W has put in many 10s of thousands of full page colors prints without issue. And for a color laser printer, it's photo output is far closer to inkjet than any other color laser I have ever used. It has been a real workhorse and I'm glad it's still running fine.

Brother.

Biggest reason is they (a) have a good quality product, and (b) don't DRM their products to cripple the printer if you use generic toner

Also - only laser / LED or similar tech. Never inkjet - that tech should have died years ago.

Finally - worth a read on the tracking "DOTS". If possible, try to find a printer that doesn't have this tracking tech. . This is getting harder to find...

I have had for a half dozen years a color and a r&w Brother laser printer. Easy peasy setup on mxLinux.
