Sleep is a glorious adventure. You need to become an explorer of the world of dreams. Endless mountains and river valleys and domed cities await you. A word to the wise -- stay away from the masked figure in the yellow robe.

Yeah, you wanna see someone sitting on the curb talking to a mailbox about the existence of aliens go without sleep for a few days, you'll be acting so goofy and probably walk right out into moving traffic. The hallucinations you start to get are not cool.
It is not a fun experience I assume.
Your brain shuts down a bit and goes on autopilot, so it is difficult to remember whatever happened. However, you don't just recover from it with a single night's sleep. It takes days to get back to normal. Shock to the system.
So, yes, it can be done, but you gain nothing from it, and lose quite a bit.
Because sleep is when your body defrags your brain.
Because you'll be hallucinating and babbling nonsense after a few days , unless that sounds like fun to you

Sleep was invented for no other reason than to get us addicted and slow us down. Can't believe they got me hooked on it, can't quit no matter how hard I try. The craving gets unbearable around 10PM.
our parents kept pressuring us into naps, and once we had a taste they jacked it up to full on bed time.
Lack of sleep causes oxidative stress on the body--which leads to heart disease, diabetes and Alzheimer's.
