Saw a demonstration years ago. Sandbag stopped a pistol round from about 15 feet and an arrow, shot from the same distance, went completely through the sandbag.

Interesting, spade tip? I assume a rounded point tip would penetrate less than a bullet due to less propellant force and increased weight from the arrow shaft.
