Do you think they will turn to hard drugs like Meth? Heroin? Cocaine? Angel dust? Will they create a junkie fueled zombie apocalypse out of desperation?

It indeed can and does, I know from experience.

I was on strong opiates, then Methadone, then Suboxone. Only later did friends tell me they were using it and that it would work. Wish I had known.

If you take enough Kratom it will indeed calm the withdrawals.

I’m speaking from experience here too bud. I’ve been taking Kratom every day for three years for pain from a motorcycle accident. And I was once a heroin addict. Kratom hardly does anything for withdrawal. And if you took it in large enough doses to try to make a difference it would make you sick.

Since I didn’t want to go back to using opiates, I started using Kratom after the accident, and it works so well on pain that allows me to continue my work as a carpenter without prescription pain meds. But I’ve tried it many times trying to get off heroin and it might help a little bit, but its benefit is negligible when you are in full-on withdraw

Well, glad you kicked the heroin, you should be proud of that.

I appreciate it. I was a dumb kid that got in a little too deep and for about eight years I used that garbage. I’m in my early 30s now and have been clean for about five years

I disagree. Dunno why we've had a different experience but whatever.

Agreed. Clean from junk for, shit, 5-6 years now. Kratom keeps me out of pain enough to not relapse, but it did not do shit for withdrawals. Took enough it made me puke trying.

Old fashioned locked-myself-in-a-room for 3 days was what did it. Wouldn't recommend, can kill you doing it that way I found out later.

Stay strong, fren.

You’re stronger than I am, I could never do it cold turkey. I can’t imagine doing that, it must’ve been horrible. I quit a few different times before finally doing it for good, and I always needed Suboxone to get through the worst parts of it. I would never take Suboxone long-term though, that stuff is fucked up. Glad to hear you’re doing good though man
