Do you think they will turn to hard drugs like Meth? Heroin? Cocaine? Angel dust? Will they create a junkie fueled zombie apocalypse out of desperation?

Sad, that's a death sentence.

I hope all the addicts kill themselves. That would be great.

Such empathy, till it happens to you (or your mom).

Heroin is the drug of choice for those unable to acquire opioids.

Heroin is an opioid.

Go back to school. Clearly it didn't take the first time.

I guess I should've been more specific. * "legal opioids"

They can stop withdrawals by purchasing Kratom from their nearest vape shop (wish I had known).

Not exactly true. While Kratom does effect similar receptors, it is not nearly strong enough to keep away opiate withdrawals. It might slightly help, but I think an addict would hardly know the difference, unless they have a very minor addiction and very mild withdrawl.

What works the best is LARGE quantities of Imodium. Imodium is an opiate, albeit a very weak one that doesn’t easily cross the blood brain barrier. There are ways to potentiate it I believe

It indeed can and does, I know from experience.

I was on strong opiates, then Methadone, then Suboxone. Only later did friends tell me they were using it and that it would work. Wish I had known.

If you take enough Kratom it will indeed calm the withdrawals.

I’m speaking from experience here too bud. I’ve been taking Kratom every day for three years for pain from a motorcycle accident. And I was once a heroin addict. Kratom hardly does anything for withdrawal. And if you took it in large enough doses to try to make a difference it would make you sick.

Since I didn’t want to go back to using opiates, I started using Kratom after the accident, and it works so well on pain that allows me to continue my work as a carpenter without prescription pain meds. But I’ve tried it many times trying to get off heroin and it might help a little bit, but its benefit is negligible when you are in full-on withdraw

Yes. The zombie apocalypse will occur when the prescription drugs run out. Opioids ADHD medicine and the Xanax type drugs. 40% of our population are zombies waiting to wake up.

There's a methadone clinic in every other town in the northeast

They have made it so doctors are scared of prescribing opiates.

My uncle had abdominal surgery and they gave him 15 vicodins. He asked for more and they treated him like a drug seeker.

Pissed off, he got 50 oxycontin on the street. Never did drugs his whole life. He used them until he healed and went right back o not doing drugs. That I know of.

Not in Arkansas the doctors hand them out like candy.

No worries. They will die from their COVID jab before the drugs run out. If not, they will die sober.

[–] 1 pt

Most likely they'll just start abusing suboxone until their supply comes back
