It is the head of a roof rake for clearing snow.
If it needs to stay light maybe just pour some fiberglass over a section of cardboard. Just pour more resin before it fully dries to get a desired thickness.
Good point. I could do a cardboard epoxy/resin cast of some sort. The problem with the plastic is that when it is below freezing it starts to form cracks when going up against layers of snow and ice. A composite fiber/resin would hold up better. I have made targets in the past with layers of epoxy soaked cardboard and was shocked at what it would stop. Stops every pistol caliber I throw at it including 5.7 mm that will almost plow through 1 inch bullet prof glass. I think I should make a cardboard trace and try a few things. It sucks it can't be metal because it would destroy your roofing.
I’ve seen plenty of these made of aluminum being used in my area if your worried about doing damage you could bend 1/2” of the edge on a break
