Every shot a doctor gives seems to be in someones ass for comedic effect. An explosion as a diversion like there's a reason to run towards it when there's no one injured. The John Wayne wound where the action hero always takes a round in the shoulder then walks it off despite it being one of the worst places to get shot w/ all the arteries coming off the heart. Not so much a tv trope but if something is described as a "psychological or cerebral thriller" it generally means "this horror movie sucks" Quicksand in older movies and abandoned mines especially westerns Big ole fat guys used to be displayed as "tough guys" like that fat foreign fucker in Indiana Jones I could probably rant about this all day.
