I know that’s what they tell everyone but I know firsthand it’s not accurate. After a penalty period for quitting you still get unemployment regardless of the circumstances, baring willful damage, sabotage, criminal acts.

Wow Florida has a 17 week penalty period for quitting. So out of a 6 month unemployment benefit they would penalize you 4 months and 1 week for quitting. That looks like the harshest penalty in the US by the DOL list. Go Florida, another tax on the working class where the govt keeps the money that you pay into the system. So unless you lit the building on fire on your way out, the UI case worker should have told you to keep applying weekly and after 4 months you would get what’s left, what a racket.
