I feel like everything went south so fast, so i think im gonna quit. Everyone in this company is pissed at me right now, and they are removing a bunch of work on my plate. I've always had this idea that one mess up = leave or get fired, so i think now is a good time to leave. For those wondering, i broke a 100 million dollar backend payment system, and its currently not working in any environment

What my brother said too, as a dev, i also have the responsibility of being QA, bug fix team, deployment coordinator, and post production auditor

As a former QA for a Fortune 100 company and also another QA for the largest regional employer, I must say WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK

Yeah there's a reason my recruiter mentioned they're having a hard time "filling this role" ... anyone competent nopes the fuck out almost immediately

The should probably take some of those hundreds of millions in payments and spend some alleviating single points of failure then.

I asked them in the beginning if i could get a request for testing. They told me to intercept the production system so i can snag one there as its getting execcuted. Excuse me, you want me to do what now? Apparently, there are no standard testing requests you can use, or a pattern or anything

If thats how they are set up then they should have a production mirror to do all testing against. Something you can restore to a specific desired state for testing and then fuck up trying things out on.

Show them as much loyalty as they've shown you. Fuck em!

The thing is my recruiter who manages this account said they aren't looking to fire me. So im just thinking to myself, these people just get off humiliating me and yelling at me

Haha, sounds like lots of opportunity for advancement on that ladder! But better fired from a financial aspect if you're in the right.

You're the lung cancer guy? Quit. If you don't have any savings you can still EASILY find a job where nobody yells at you. When did yelling adults become acceptable in the workplace anyway? I hate society today. Mental children everywhere.

Quit. Go on a long road trip (while intermittent fasting and sipping on essiac tea) life is literally too short to put up with being yelled at for ANYONE, but people battling cancer need that shit less than most.

Give snarky responses back regarding how shit their setup is.

In general, you should always be looking to upgrade your job and should always be strategically be submitting resumes.

Here is the best tip: When submitting a resume, white text, in a background layer on your pdf, the entire job listing so that the keywords line up perfectly and get you to the top of the list. Cut and paste multiple similar job listings to increase score, as well.

If they aren't looking to fire you and are just being dicks; set them up for a lawsuit.

This is good advice for office politics because, even if your coworkers aren't pathological narcissists, in the workplace they have to act like they are: https://www.reddit.com/r/raisedbynarcissists/comments/7pje8n/neutralizing_the_poison/

Just document every shitty maneuver.

Record the conversations if they berate you and you can always sue later for work harassment and damages.

Don’t quit. Ask for a pay raise. Or take some vacation. Don’t quit

Then why not spend your time at work looking for other jobs? Or taking online classes to boost your resume? Make the best out of it. Getting yelled at a few times a day really isn't that bad if you don't care what they think anyhow. And you'd still get paid and have health insurance.
