I've had trouble sleeping ever since puberty. Insomnia and I are real good buds.

What works for me is to lie down and, one by one, focus on relaxing every joint in my body, starting with my toes and working my way up. I usually fall asleep before I get to my back.

It's important to actually take a few seconds on each and really focus on relaxing any tension at all.

If I can tell there's no way I'm about to sleep, I stop trying and get up to read or do something else for a little while until my mind settles enough to try again.

I'll have to give this a try tomorrow, as its too late for me to do it today, I've got to be to work at 6:30. Thanks for the tips I'll give it a shot.
