I was making a contrast to a "normal" ER visit. "Normal" is a 2 hour wait in the waiting area, then they bring you back and stick you in a room in the ER, then they do some tests and you are out of there in 8 hours total. Maybe 12. It took 8 hours just to get me checked in and another 16 before they had a room for me in the hospital. I've literally never seen a hospital doing triage in the ER waiting room before.
