I ask this because when I was around 12, I was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome.

My Social ability is terrible. I get anxious when speaking to a group of people. I'm trying to find the best way to "fit it" so to speak. But there really isn't anything that I know to teach me or assist me with a situation like that.

I became a Level I firefighter for NJ back in 2014. I have not been in the fire service for the last 7 years. And considering that shit may very well hit the fan in the next couple of months/years, I figured that I would find a way to serve my community.

I will follow orders of any officer in charge of the calls that I will go on.

But to ask the whole community of Poal, it could help me gain some insight to understand the opinions of those who would be a part of the community that I serve.

has the best answer on the thread. In addition, I'd say that you're already way above some other aspy people I know, or am aware of. I find that the aspies who are cool, or at least tolerable are aware of their aspyness and take measures to compensate.

I have a very fun friend who is 10/10 aspy. 0% sarcasm understanding. It's like talking to Drax. But he has his own sense of humor- it's not always intentional. Everyone likes the guy.

I have this rifle that's got unmovable iron-sites. It shoots up and to the left, so my point of aim is slightly down and to the right. Can make pretty decent groups with it.

People are the same way: Everyone has some sort of intellectual or personality deficit. It's not the deficit that matters, it's what steps you take to accommodate it.
