Yeah, sure, you can psychologically control / influence people to a degree, but I feel that this is only a small part of the equation.
It is important to look at the question at the layer that has the most explanatory and predictive power: speciation.
There are at least 7 human species on the planet vying for dominance of resources. Science continually talks about "natural" ecosystems being in a state of balance, and while there is some truth to that if you are describing what is going on to young children, it is far more accurate to describe ecosystems and competition as something closer to the WW1 trench wars. All species, all the time, are either in the process of dying or growing. There is no such thing as balance, it is constant competitive pressure. And if you read history and watch evolutionary talks, the general competitive fields seems to have the following patterns: most species in a survival competition are locked in what looks like a deadlock (or balance) the way WW1 troops were locked in a deadlock during trench warfare parts of the war, which is punctuated by RAPID CHANGE where either in species evolution you see dramatic speciation changes happen at once or in wars you see an event snap the trench warfare stalemate into a vast movement of troops where one wins over the other.
There is a great video that I cannot find that talks about the speciation events in the 4 billion years of our planets existence, there are very long evolutionary deadlocks / trench warfare stalemates between competing species, punctuated by events of huge amount of speciation divergence because of some event kicking it off, and then falling back into deadlock until the next punctuation event. History of warfare is interestingly similar.
The pattern in interspecies competition is: locked in deadly and slow trench warfare in anticipation of the single event or two that changes the entire equation and one species wipes out the other.
In other words, all human species are in a perpetual war against each other, we are all looking to wipe each other out at a primaly genetic level and we all hate each other.
The reason that you are asking this question is because you have been brainwashed by 70+ years of propaganda by jews and non whites to lower our offensive and defensive psychological positions. I think the survival strategies are many, varied and we can think of survival strategy stacks the way se can think of skills as skill stacks.
Survival does include things like ware and genocide. It also includes a ton of other strategies that all work in concert with the baseline that you describe.
