I'm currently managing through what I suspect is the flu.

Last time I had the flu, I also developed a case of strep and I was prescribed an antibiotic. I'm obviously not going to the clinic to get a covid false positive, especially considering my symptoms have indicated the general flu.

So I'm curious as to the antiseptic properties of iodine. I'm thinking of mixing 2% liquid iodine with a couple of ounces of water and gargling a few times a day.

In addition to adding a few drops to drinking water.

Has anyone here used iodine for this purpose?

I know salt water is typically recommended for a sore throat, but my experience with salt water is that its not really effective.

Warm saltwater is fantastic for clearing your throat. Iodine is beneficial to your immune system, but in order for your body to absorb it more efficiently you'd need to also take magnesium, zinc, and selenium.
