It's always better to have and not need it than to just barely scrape by because you think you're too good for money.
If it was $100 on the ground, and I know I didn't need it and do not take it, then I leave it to the next person who might think "I need that".
This moves in the direction of a high trust society at a super low level by allowing others the resources they might need.
Taking the money for yourself, should you not need it, is greed and benefits no one who may need it. Kind of like the golden cup of Vlad.
