The government is chatting pure shit to the media, and they know it.
All of the rules are being treated as optional provided you don't crow about how your not following the 'new normal'
Only half the pubs, if that, bothered with the track and trace crap, no pubs shit down or fined etc.
If your new to how uk gov drags it heels.
- Identify issue, pretend all is fine
- When low compliance becomes apparent.. Launch inquiry (18 months)
- Set up parliamentary sub Committee to analyse inquiry outcomes (12 months)
- Set up review of inquiry outcomes (6 months)
- Pit recommendations before house via next available private members bill (6 months)
- Determine its a bit too close to the next election to push through parliament, will confirm mandate via manifesto and election
- Chief whip and spin doctors decide its too devicive and drop it off the manifesto
- Quietly drop legislation
