Case and KA-BAR are American made.
It's probably Chinese but the Harbor Freight machete is only $5.

probably
Most assuredly is. I think the only think I've ever seen made Not In China was a plumbing snake I purchased there years ago. It was actually made in the states.
Knife Center or Blade HQ ..Smoky Mountain Knife Works is also a good place to look..Pay up ..Don’t go cheap..A good steel like S35 VN , S30VN , or D2 can be had at a decent price..These three companies carry tons of all kinds of blades..
Do you have a budget? And what style & length of blade you're looking for?

I have the and I love it to death.
Is Ka Bar a good brand? Do they use quality steel and craftsmanship?
Less kuri more bowie?
When quality of tooling is important you have to look who supplies the professional industry, not the harry homeowner.
There are guys near you that make knives. Find one.
The Collins is the original USA brand, although the ones shown on this page are actually made in Guatemala (machetes are somewhat latin american, after all)... The Ontario brand is made in USA.
