Have a new job that is offering some blue cross/shield package once I complete my 90 day probationary. I only briefly looked at the booklet in the office, can't recall the numbers, but they seemed ok; for in-network. Have not started comparing, and the only insurance I have had in adult-hood has been: none, and the VA. That's it. So I'd like to hear some advice and opinions on companies, insurance shopping, etc.

HR said it was the cheapest a company can get. I wasn't sure if they meant cheapest for them, or me.

"Free:" dental, and vision. With a blue cross/shield plan ~$200/m

Why pay someone money so that you can beg them for it back later?

All insurance is a scam other than life insurance by KoC, which is just a death lottery.

200 is cheap, bcbs would have many different plans and they pretty much have a monopoly on insurance.

It is a scam, but one you have to participate in, like taxes.

Fortunately I am not required to take it, but since I have to decide if I want it or not, might as well shop to see if it is worth it.

It's cheap for the employer. Still vastly better service than the VA.
