Unless you have 6 gorillian you're wasting your time
Monitors are like browser tabs. You can always find use for more, but it's diminishing.
"When will this end?"
Never. Big Monitor now has you in their clutches, and you will never escape.
:(
One guy I work with just has one massive TV and arranges all his windows on it. It looks retarded.
I've seen that and unless it's something like a security camera grid where on giant swathe of the grid is a chosen camera, it is very stupid.
He does it to give the impression that he's onto something that nobody else is smart enough to implement. Before he switch to the mega-monitor he used 3 wide-screen monitors but had them all mounted vertically.
Wide screen
I loathe wide screen. Curved is just plain retarded too.
Does he sit close to it too like he would with a regular monitor? Just for the hell of it I tried that with my TV and it was not a pleasant experience. I'm still using my TV as my home PC display, but the difference is I sit far enough from it since it's in my living room.
Yeah, he stands at a desk with it.
Well, at least he got a standing desk, so he got 1 thing right.
HEHEHE, been there, then I discovered the joy of screen-space and I can have a movie/work on each screen, and for relaxing I put a 32" older Samsung onboard as well. Kind of fun, watching Enemy Mine and writing on Poal at the same time with no shortage of space.
Depends on how far you are sitting away from your monitor. There are calculations online that can tell you the maximum size of a monitor @ dpi depth that works at each foot of distance from the monitor.
My compromise is to get the maximum size monitor at the maximum dpi so that I don't have to rotate my head and then adjust my workflow to fit on a single large monitor. I have a tiling window manager so this setup can be effective.
The largest size monitor on a desk that I can see my self getting is an 8k tv @ about 64" in size. It occupies the whole back of the desk, has the max resolution that the human eye can see at the distance of a desk monitor. I'm waiting to see how 8k tvs turn out for people, not a lot of video cards can drive them properly.
My kid has about five. At work. It's like closets though, the more you have the more you'll fill.
