Considering he stated in another post that 'Almost every business in my town has a "help wanted" or "now hiring" sign', I doubt he'll have trouble finding a job, especially with the low employment numbers incurred by the Holocough payments.
But as for your other arguments, you make a good point. Personally I don't like having debt over my head, but it may be something he needs to incur.

I still think that there will always be gainful employment out there for people willing to put in the hard yards though. If he's willing to put in the work, there's employers that will be willing to pay him for it. I'd rather be living paycheck to paycheck than be beholden to the powers that be.
