Slavoj Zizek is a prime example of the "dogshit and flies" theory of bad leftist philosophy. Just as a swarm of shiny, blue assed flies obscures and distracts from the stinking core of dogshit on a hot day, Zizek's clouds of deliberately meaningless verbiage hides a solid core of totalitarianism. For example, Zizek was once asked why he denounced Nazism, but supported Communism, even though both ideologies caused the deaths of many millions. His answer was that Stalin acted for universal reasons, while Hitler only acted for the few, so therefore, purely on the basis of motives, and ignoring results, Stalin was a good guy!
By the same token, it is Zizek's complete lack of concern for responsible reasoning and evidence that allows him to churn out so many publications so quickly. Words are political actions to him, not means of reaching and preserving the truth. If he could achieve the same effects by making monkey noises and farting loudly, then he would, and he would still be celebrated by the left for this.
Pick any leftist, and the "dogshit and flies" theory will describe them. Behind the credentials, the affected sophistication, the clever verbal play, there is an utterly simplistic world view on a par with a children's cartoon with its goodies and baddies and magical thinking.
