Public access TV in my area was really cool back in my high school days. There was a crazy backyard wrestling weekly show. Another one of local skateboarding videos. A punk/hardcore show. There was a show some twenty-something people did that was like improve-sketch comedy. Also a lot of one and done shows people made that you'd see once and then never see again. Just a lot of cool, weird, interesting diy type content. I'd pay a lot of money to get access to that channel during those years again. Way better than the dog shit on TV nowadays
There was a cool one in my home town area where these two dudes would go full blown Halloween makeup, show a classic horror film, and provide a bunch of history on the production, and origins of the characters.
Agree we needs aomething like that and to just pay directly to the people who produce good content
