You're confusing socialism with "marxist socialism" which isn't really socialism. National socialism encourages a balance between the needs of the individual and the needs of the group. Marxism is a system of stealing from the productive members of society and giving to the unproductive members. This is largely true of capitalism too especially the crony capitalism of the modern US.
Under the NS system things operate much as they do the boom of the US throughout the 40s and 50s (the postwar US economy was modeled on the NS economy). You can start a business, hire employees and make money. However the government works to ensure that this arrangement is to the benefit of both parties. Preventing exploitative practices such as hiring cheap foreign labor, while encouraging (and in larger companies mandating) co-operational practices such as profit sharing. In NS by working to ensure that workers were well treated, well paid and appreciated for their contribution productivity skyrocketed and successful business owners became wealthy. The whole concept and reason it's called "socialism" is that the economy should work for the benefit of society, not the benefit of any one group or for the pure pursuit of profit. NS government had no problem subsidizing a business that lost money if it provided a great benefit to the people, such as parks, hostels and free clinics.
