I'd be all for it.

I finally asked my boss for a raise and got it. After watching us raise all my subordinates pay; I simply said with the current market, I don't feel my salary is competitive anymore. There wasn't even any pushback.

Maybe it's time for top execs and CEOs to scale back pay.

I don't know about more effective with a raise but I know what happens the opposite way. Start fucking over your employees on raises, promotions, benefits, shitty conditions and they will lose 5x the productivity that they think they are saving.
